**If you're not caught up on this season of "True Blood," I wouldn't recommend reading this. Spoilers abound.**
Just watched the fifth episode of "True Blood" and this show just keeps getting better and better.
After each season, I always forget how much suspense they hang you with after each episode and, holy crap, Sookie has some crazy electric powers coming forth through her hands - but have we seen her do this before? I could have sworn that she displayed that power against Marianne last season - am I wrong? But Russell's reaction to this is priceless. "FANTASTIC!"
There were so many good things about this episode. Lafayette's getting a boyfriend, Jason is maybe getting a girlfriend and becoming a cop — and what is up with Sam's birth family? I'm definitely wanting some answers to that. Also, all that background information on Sookie and her family — can't wait to find out what role that plays.
Franklin and Tara's relationship is twisted and just when it seemed like she was figuring out how to handle him, he asks her to be his vampire bride. I can't help but love Franklin though, just because he's so damn crazy. When he proudly shows off to Tara how fast he can text? Hilarious. And the whole "I can't eat day lilies" scene was classic.
And then there's Eric. Can he possible get any hotter? He shows up, all noble-like, asking to search Mississippi for Bill; he flirts with the Russell's boy-toy to get information; he's adorably concerned about Pam. And that look he gets on his face when Bill admits that Sookie isn't "his" any more? Whew. To top it off, we find out that in his human life, Eric was Viking royalty (!!) and Russell killed his family. I'm also eager to find out what his past relationship with Lorena is all about...
What I'm loving most this season is that, despite all the subplots, it doesn't feel cluttered or confused. The pacing is great (even though I'm anxious to know what happens) and the character development is is really coming full-circle for some of the characters. Can you believe the Eric we see now is the same from the first season? And Jason Stackhouse?
What do you think of the season so far? Best yet, or am I way off base?
