Even though "Sex and the City 2" is getting pretty bad reviews, I'll still stand in line, pay my $10 and enjoy my 2.5 hours with four of my favorite girls.
For the first film, two years ago (!), it was new friends, Olive Garden and cocktails before the film.
Who knows this year!
I'm fairly certain I won't go this weekend and part of me wants to wait until my mom's in town next week (aww!). But we're going to have lots of wedding stuff to do (like addressing and mailing out save the dates).
I'm of the mind, and of the generation, that will probably watch anything that involves Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Miranda Hobbs and Charlotte York.
The complaint that movie doesn't reflect the recession's affect on Carrie's or Mr. Big's jobs is sort of lost on me - I never questioned the columnist's ability to purchase Manolo Blahniks or Louis Vuitton, why would I expect everything to suddenly get super realistic?
That's part of what I love about it - the life that those four women lead is so far removed from anything I could ever imagine myself doing. But I love watching them do it. And so do millions of other women.
I'm very happy with my life, but sometimes it feels boring. And Carrie's life never seems boring, you know?
Anyone venturing out to the midnight showing tonight?
