Next, it's Siobhan Magnus, who's singing "When You Believe," a Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston duet. Alicia Keys is impressed by her voice.
But this is a bad, bad song choice. It's hard to sing this without getting the inevitable Mariah/Whitney comparisons, and Siobhan doesn't quite measure up. It has emotion, though, which is more than we've seen from some previous contestants tonight. Siobhan really can sing -- I think she's just a little confused about who she is vocally. I'm also a little confused by the insects on her dress.
Randy: "It was just OK for me."
Ellen: "I disagree (with Randy)."
Kara: Says she doesn't really understand Siobhan
Simon: "I don't think that was the right song for you."
Siobhan gives her token rebuttal, describing the song while saying, "The meaning of it is why I'm here right now."
