Think you're an expert on cocktails? I thought so, too. Then I took this quiz.
Apparently, being an expert at drinking cocktails doesn't make one an expert at knowing what's in cocktails. I only got three out of 10 questions right. I'm so disappointed in myself. I don't think I've failed this badly since junior-high algebra. And I've been "studying" cocktails for 12 years! Junior-high algebra received about 15 minutes of study time.
At least some of the potential quiz answers were funny. (Hint, those usually aren't the correct answers. Resist the urge to select them.) Even if you do poorly on the quiz, the joke answers should cheer you up on this gloomy, rainy weekend we're facing. The cocktail recipe below will certainly cheer you up. It might even help you answer one of the quiz questions. Good luck!
6 ice cubes
1.5 ounces gin
1 tablespoon dry vermouth
Stir ice cubes, vermouth and gin in a glass until liquor becomes very cold. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with the olive.
