So, it's finally come to this - federal indictments for our most favorite ever governor, Rod Blagojevich. What's the skinny, you ask? Here it is, in a nutshell:
That Blago was involved in a "wide-ranging scheme to deprive the people of Illinois of honest government."
Funny how things like this work out. Blago's in office, gets busted, forced out by the Legislature, then indicted. However, former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens goes on trial right before the November election, gets convicted, booted out of office, and now the U.S. attorney general wants to drop the whole case.
Even better than that, Alaska Republicans want the guy that took Stevens' seat to step down so a new election can happen. Check it out.
Just goes to show that truth doesn't have a chance of being stranger than politics.
