Here we go! First up, it's 28-year-old rocker Jackie Tohn, who opts for a jazzy version of Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation."
It's nice, not necessarily challenging vocally, but it's a performance that makes me actually want to see Jackie in the Top 12. She's obviously here to entertain, the route taken by former token rockers like Amanda Overmyer. At least the song is full of personal touches, ensuring that she'd bring some originality as a finalist.
Never miss a local story.
I think she comes off a little pretentious on stage at times -- must be her acting background -- but she gets bonus points in my eyes for making the song her own.
Randy: "You definitely are a good entertainer."
Kara: "You can work the stage...it wasn't the best vocals, but you showed us who you are up there."
Paula: "It wasn't a perfect performance, but perfect sometimes is boring."
Simon: "I think that you actually played the clown tonight...I don't think that you did yourself any favors."
