As a woman, I feel compelled to be an advocate for breast cancer. Additionally, my grandmother is a survivor.
October being the 25th anniversary celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, there are events taking place to raise money and awareness. There are also products being featured that do the same.
Perusing Fox News this morning, I came across an article on Cleavage Creek Wines.
Owner Budge Brown lost his wife to breast cancer and has since created Cleavage Creek Wines, a line of wines that feature breast cancer survivors on each bottle.
New survivors and new bottles are featured each year - this year, six new wines were introduced, including a 2007 Reserve Napa Cabernet, 2007 Reserve Napa Petite Sirah, 2007 Merlot-Shiraz, 2008 Chardonnay, 2007 Secret Red and 2008 Secret White.
I haven't seen these in the aisles of the local liquor store, but I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled.
10% of gross sales go to fund breast cancer research.
