Here's 17-year-old Stevie Wright singing "You Belong to Me" by Taylor Swift. Yikes. She starts off really off-key. Serious pitch problems here.
I'm not thrilled by this performance. Obviously, Stevie has potential, but Taylor Swift songs are just really hard to sing. It's more speaking than singing, and the verses are so quick that they don't really do much for showcasing vocals.
Never miss a local story.
In the end, it's a performance marred by inexperience. It's the classic case of someone lacking experience not only in choosing songs, but also in interacting with the audience.
Randy: "It was not hot for me."
Kara: "I think you have an identity crisis going on."
Paula: "It just was not the right song for you."
Simon: "It was terrible."
