I'm sure this isn't going to make comic book fans happy, but it's just been announced that Disney is buying Marvel comics for $4 billion.
I think this is actually pretty cool. As is pointed out in the article, look what Disney's acquisition of Pixar has created? Some of the best family movies of the past decade. "Toy Story" was ground breaking.
I just keep thinking of all the cool things that Disney World is going to do to reflect the acquisition. Think about it: X-Men-themed stunt shows, maybe some kind of Spider Man ride involving webs and other super hero-inspired fun things. There are about 5,000 characters to choose from afterall.
Anyway, what are your thoughts? Do you think this is good for either company or both or neither?
