Some contestants are getting the boot, but plenty are excelling. Danny Gokey -- the guy whose wife died shortly before auditions -- pulls out a nice version of Queen's "Somebody to Love" and helps his entire team, including his friend Jamar, advance.
Also pulling out solid performances: Adam Lambert of "Wicked" fame, oil rig worker Jeremy Sarver and bald guy Matt Breitzke.
Never miss a local story.
We also see Jesse Langseth for the first time. She's the younger singer of blues sensation Jonny Lang. Collectively, the crew all advances to the next round.
OK, now for the real fun: Team Diva, which includes Bikini Girl and rebellious Rose. They sing Duffy's "Mercy," and from the get-go it's obvious that Jasmine is the only real standout.
Rose forgets the words and Katrina -- er, Bikini Girl -- just sounds bad.
Simon asks how long they practiced the night before, and Katrina says she had to go to bed because she was in heels all day.
Predictably, Jasmine is the only one who gets the OK. Bikini Girl is the only one who walks away without hugging her. Later, Team Diva opts for a group hug and Bikini Girl still gives the no, saying something about fake girls.
Rose's parting words: "I hated my group so much." Aww. That still doesn't explain why you forgot the words.
