I love grilling during the summer months but sometimes I'm not hungry enough to devour a giant piece of meat. I love this idea for Grilled Tomato Crostini from Food & Wine magazine. It would make a nice light dinner when served with a big salad.
Food & Wine recommends a nice Oregon pinot noir be served with the crostini. While I enjoy most wines, pinot noir is a particular favorite because it goes well with practically any food. My favorite summer pinot noirs come from Oregon's Erath winery. Erath pinot noirs taste of cherry and plum with a hint of spice. They have delicate flavors that don't overwhelm food, and I've never found a "hot" Erath.
