Last Tuesday, I was having lunch with my friend Gail Greenblatt and while I was waiting for her, I saw a bunch of Springer Opera House employees. And one actor, Michael Stiggers.
I've known Stiggers, as we all call him, since he was still in high school and hanging out backstage at the Springer. Then in 1995, we were both cast in "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." He's just a lot of fun.
Now, he's graduated from Columbus State University and he's a working actor.
And he's in "The Full Monty."
Adam Archer, another CSU grad, is now working at the Springer, and he wished me a belated happy birthday. When Stiggers heard that, he said he'd see me later that afternoon at the photo shoot of "The Full Monty." And he promised me he'd take off his shirt.
So Joe Paull, our videographer/photographer came and started shooting various scenes. I yelled that I wanted Stiggers to take off his shirt.
Director Paul Pierce turned to me and said, "Are you serious?"
I said, "He promised."
So the shirt came off, and the women who were there applauded.
Stiggers looks that good.
You'll have to go see the play to see if I'm right.
When you do, tell me that I'm right. And you can thank me.
By the way, it opens Thursday.
