People.com reports Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, also known for her role in "Pushing Daisies," will join the "American Idol" judging panel for Orlando auditions.
Even though just yesterday I praised Neil Patrick Harris' guest judging appeal, I have to question the thought process behind picking these fourth judges.
It's kind of like the week when Ellen DeGeneres guest judged on "So You Think You Can Dance." She was entertaining, but she didn't really say anything constructive. Her stint mainly worked to simply attach another big name to the show.
Yes, Kristin Chenoweth has more musical background than Ellen DeGeneres. But I agree with MJ: She specializes in a genre the judges specifically tell contestants to avoid.
So really, how useful will she be on the panel?
