I took my mother to see "Tokyo!" at the Peachtree 8 at Peachtree Mall. Carmike Cinemas works with the Columbus Film Society to bring foreign and independent films to Columbus. Whenever there's a Japanese movie, I take my mother.
I always buy a small popcorn. The girl at the counter showed me the new small popcorn bag and it was tiny. I mean Barbie sized!
She told me that for something like 70 cents more, I could get a medium bag, which is the size of what the small bag was!
I know that Carmike Cinemas has kept the movie tickets low in Columbus because, after all, it's headquartered here. I've always appreciated that. I just finished reading a story that said movie tickets in Los Angeles are $12.
But concessions are still way too expensive in Columbus. I think it makes up for the lower ticket prices.
Oh, well. I shouldn't complain. I'm the one who needs, yes, needs popcorn when I see a movie!
I really should take advantage of the Tuesday $1 prices at the concession stand. I'm behind today, so maybe I'll go next week and see something.
What have you seen that's good? Let me know.
