Here's Lee DeWyze, who was working at a paint store six months ago. Ryan tests him on his paint knowledge and he gets one question out of two right. His parents talk about how he was embarrassed to sing as a child.
He takes the stage with a guitar and adds a rock edge to "Beast of Burden." It's probably my favorite performance from him so far this season. He adds a real touch of uniqueness to his arrangement, and I can imagine hearing him on the radio. But still has a long way to go with stage presence, and risks falling into the forgettable "guy with guitar" category like Casey. Oh, but my crush on Lee is officially back.
Randy: "I thought it was dope."
Ellen: "I thought it was great...I was expecting a tiny bit more from you."
Kara: "You are growing faster than anybody on this stage."
Simon: "I really like you as a person...You don't shine at the moment...You have got an incredibly good voice."
