Michael "Big Mike" Lynche had the lowest number of votes on Wednesday's episode of "American Idol," but the judges used their one-time save to keep him around.
This means two contestants will be eliminated next week.
Andrew Garcia joined Big Mike in the bottom two. Aaron Kelly was the third-lowest vote-getter.
After learning he had the fewest votes, Big Mike sang "This Woman's Work," a performance that judge Simon Cowell previously called the best effort of the semifinal phase of the competition.
The four judges deliberated, and then Cowell delivered their unanimous verdict: ""We have decided we're going to see you next week."
Wednesday's show also included performances by David Archuleta, Jason Derulo and Rihanna.
Next week, Adam Lambert mentors the nine contestants. The theme hasn't been revealed.
