Down to the last half hour. We've wrapped up footage of day one for the first approximately 75 singers, and now the next 75 (who spent the previous day sightseeing) take the stage.
Wow. I love how we already got a quasi-Ford commericial.
Never miss a local story.
OK, time for some singing: Jackie Tohn, an actress who's appeared in shows like "Veronica Mars" and "The Sopranos," takes the stage and rocks out. Very reminiscent of Amanda Overmyer. The judges are happy and she easily advances to the next round.
Time for best friends Danny and Jamar. You'll remember Danny Gokey as the guy whose wife died shortly before the auditions.
Jamar sings first and shouts his way through "California Dreamin.'" The judges seem to like it, though.
Danny sings "Kiss From a Rose" and offers a more subdued performance, though it seems a bit strained at times. But Paula goes crazy, offering a standard ovation and professing her love.
Both Danny and Jamar get an OK for the next round.
Quick montage of other singers getting judges' praise, including do-good teen Arianna Afsar and dueling piano player Matt Giraud.
