I remember hearing a while back that Miley Cyrus was designing a clothing line to be sold at Wal-Mart. And now the day has finally come.
Cyrus teamed up with Max Azria to design affordable clothing for teens - nothing in the line is over $20. Not bad, not bad.
And the clothes are actually pretty cute too. Check them out here.
I saw them the other day when I was at Wal-Mart and decided to take a few minutes to look them over. If I was 10 years younger, I'd probably be all over that stuff. In fact, some of it is probably ok for people in their 20's, too.
I'd have to say my favorite piece is the stirrup pants - I haven't seen those since the early 90's. Oh, memories of grade school. I'm sure I had a pair in every color.
The Examiner reports that Miley's also releasing an album, "Party in the USA," to go along with the lines debut. The music video will feature her clothing line.
I also remember hearing that Taylor Swift was designing sun dresses for Wal-Mart, but I've never seen them in the store. After a quick search on Walmart.com, here they are.
This article explains celebrity clothing lines and tells us what makes them work - and what doesn't.
I have a feeling that the affordability of the line, teamed with Miley's popularity, will make her Wal-Mart threads a success.
