It's unusual for me to work on Sunday. Alan Riquelmy, who usually works the Sunday police beat/Metro editor slot, is off this week. So I volunteered to work.
I was hoping that nothing unusual would happen and I got lucky. Nothing happened. Thank goodness.
I was bummed that I would miss the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert on HBO. I caught a little of it at work. Fergie and Mick Jagger were singing with U2 as the backup. Jagger said he had the most expensive back-up band in the world.
When I got home, I caught the last 15 minutes or so. It had Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. Then they sang with Darlene Love and Billy Joel. It was great.
I really hope HBO releases the concert as a DVD. I'd be the first in line to buy it. Really. Truly.
