Time for Michael "Big Mike" Lynche. We learn he's loud and hilarious. He also makes a crazy "hey" sound. He performed with his family when he was a kid. They were called the Lynche Mob. Haha.
Mike is singing "Eleanor Rigby," which he used to sing with the Lynche Mob. There's high expectations with the song, given David Cook's stellar rendition in season 7.
Mike takes the stage accompanied by an orchestra and attempts to make an R&B version of this tune. I'm not crazy about it. It just seems like he's trying too hard to be original. I wish he would have opted for a slower song again. His vocals are better than most of the previous performers tonight, but I'm not digging the song choice.
Randy: "The parts that did work were great."
Ellen: "You can do anything...I thought that was incredible."
Kara: "I thought that was fire. Those vocals were amazing."
Simon: "I didn't love it as much as the other three...This was the sort of thing you'd see and hear in musicals."
