I was so tired Sunday that I had my dates wrong. But not as tired as my colleage Sonya Sorich, who spent 12 hours, trying to track people down, to get the story.
My friend David Hay said it was in 1994 that a Miss Georgia gave up her crown the day after she won. It was Andrea Krahn who was the first runner-up, and went on to become the third runner-up to Miss America. That year's winner was Heather Whitestone of Alabama.
I'm sorry Andrea, I knew it was you! And I'm sorry, Kara, for dragging you into this mess.
But it looks like Emily Cook will be a fine Miss Georgia.
