My relatives are here from Tokyo. My 83-year-old Uncle Hide, his daughter, Izumi and her husband Keiji and his youngest daughter, Midori, are here. It's hard to believe they came here for just one week. Just one week!
They arrived Sunday afternoon and I don't know who decided to have dinner at Golden Corral, but that's where we went.
All four of them were amazed at the amount of food on the buffet tables.
We've taken them out for lunch and dinner every day except Monday, when Fred cooked
They're going to go back to Japan and tell all their friends that it's no wonder that Americans are so fat! They said the portion sizes are huge. A jumbo sandwich from Mike & Ed's turned ou to be problematic Patty said. She bought four sandwiches and the four of them managed to eat one. The rest of the sandwiches went into go-boxes and are still in the frig.
I've noticed portion sizes are huge. It seems my stomach has shrunk since I learned about my diabetes. I've been eating a lot of salads. A lot of salads. so much so that I'm beginning to get resentful.
All you have to do is look at a single entree at any restaurant to see that we're eating too much food.
But I guess we don't REALLY see that until someone from another country says something.
