Chipper, my long-haired Chihuahua, woke me up this morning, wanting to go out. So I took Chipper, Piiko and Pookie out. It was just beginning to rain.
When I walked back into the kitchen, the microwave clock said 3:30 am.
Why was Chipper waking me up that early? He was supposed to wake me up at 7 a.m.
I was supposed to be at Spencer High School at 8:30 a.m. to help with the Page One judging. No, I wasn't a judge this year, but I was supposed to help register the nominees.
I didn't wake up until 8:15 a.m. I got to Spencer an hour late.
It's one of my favorite events of the year. It leads to my most fun night of the year, which is the Page One Award ceremony.
This year, it's May 12 in the Bill Heard Theatre, RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, 900 Broadway. If you've never been to a Page One Award ceremony, I'd recommend it. You won't regret going.
