I love sports. I once said I'd love to be a sports reporter. And then I thought about it and decided I really didn't want work at night covering games.
So instead, I watch ESPN and listen to ESPN radio and Fox Sports radio. Although some sports personalities get on my nerves. Like Colin Cowherd and Jim Rome. My favorite, Tony Kornheiser, left radio to do television full time.
The other day, while I was listening to Dan Patrick, I heard something astounding. The Hooter's Restaurant chain is touting something it calls National Play Hooky Day or something like that. Hooters says to play hooky from work. Hooters waitresses will hand out doctor's excuses. They've got to be kidding. Right?
And if you get online right now, the first 100,000 people to download a coupon from www.hootershookyday.com will get a free appetizer.
I wonder if any of my colleagues will be at Hooters Friday instead of in the office.
