On International Museum Day, which is tomorrow (May 18), you should take advantage of the Columbus Museum, 1251 Wynnton Road. Besides the great exhibits on view, you get a $5 discount on any purchase of $30 or more in the Museum Shop.
Buying merchandise from the Museum Shop goes toward supporting the museum's exhibits and educational programs. And you'll get to buy something very different from any shop in town.
Atlanta-based jeweler Jonathan Shapiro is holding a gold-buying event at the Hampton Inn from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Shapiro, who is a dealer at the museum's Art & Antique Show, is giving 10 percent of his transaction totals to the Columbus Museum.
If you have any questions, call the museum at 706-748-2562.
