Ok, here it is - conservatives are lying to the American people about health care reform. Period.
Don't get on your decrepit horse and give me thousands of examples of how liberals have lied throughout their existence. That's a poor answer to an argument. You want to whinge about liberals, visit Fox News' Web site.
Sarah Palin has told a lie about the creation of "death panels" that would choose the societal worth of a person and determine whether they received necessary health care. Newt Gingrich backed it up.
They are deceitful, and they are lying. Take a look at this story, which sums it up nicely with this line:
"Palin and other critics are wrong."
This is not how American democracy is supposed to work. Anyone has the right to question their government, and to hear conservative activists these days, you'd think Obama was going to bring the brown shirts down on them. Intelligent and thoughtful debate done by reasoned adults is one thing. Yelling at your congressman during a town hall meeting is immature, contributes nothing to the public discourse and has no value.
When you add the deliberate dissemination of lies to yelling at a public forum, then you are more than harmful to a democracy - you are anathema. If that's how you plan on putting people in power who are aligned to your beliefs, expect a righteous smackdown from people who still know what America stands for.
