This is a powerful essay about one man's addiction to steroids.
The essay is excerpted from Paul Solotaroff's book.
Solotaroff started out innocently enough: In the '70s, while in college, a friend introduced him to shots that would help him bulk up.
Sure enough they did. But then, to bulk up the shy part of himself, Solotaroff added other illegal substances like cocaine.
Ended up in the hospital once and tried lying to a doctor, who knew better.
Solotaroff is one of the lucky ones. He lived to tell about it.
