This, I believe most people with common sense would believe, is stupid.
What is it, those of you who can't be bothered to click on the link, ask? Put simply, it's a hokey attempt by a reformed liberal to apologize to all those she or he ever encountered on this planet while holding liberal beliefs.
Because now, you see, this person has seen the error of her ways. She's been Hannitized, transformed, and become a wackjob conservative, which means that all liberal beliefs are wrong and she now holds the key to the truth door.
It's a common problem, really. Someone holds extreme views and can only see the good of their arguments and the bad of others. Then, through some clever literary device, they change sides. Again, they can only see the good of the new side of the fence they're on and the horribly terrible beliefs of their former side.
Whatever happened to a little balance in American political belief? Can't someone hold both conservative and liberal ideologies in their heads and not explode? Must everything always be black and white, red and blue, with no space in between?
And if that's the case, then why bother to switch if the other side is just a different kind of crazy? Great, you've gone from Scientology to Odinism. I still don't want you at my party.
Or, then again, maybe this is all just because the author is in California.
Dear California: You're crazy.
