You might want to know where Djibouti is.
I had to look it up.
Never miss a local story.
It's on the Red Sea. Djibouti is a small country and it's eastern border is the Red Sea. To the north is Eritrea. To the north and west is Ethiopia. To the south is Somalia.
Dorothy has done more research, of course. She found out that it's relatively stable for that part of the world. It won its independence from France in 1977. It's a desert country.
And she's been told that as long as she's on base, she'll be OK.
If she wants to venture out, she has to have at least three people sign her out. And she must not go out alone.
Dorothy's found out that her new (government issue) laptop won't allow her to watch the DVDs she brought. So she's reading a lot and going to watch bad movies. The good thing is everything is free, including laundry service, the bad movies, the mess hall. The only thing she has to pay for is the Starbucks coffee and the alcohol.
She's going to send me a list of things she needs. Once she finds out what her address is!
