Sarah Shahi (Life) stars in this lighthearted new drama as a former lawyer who now works as a mediator, helping people resolve their differences without the contentiousness of full-blown legal proceedings. Working for her stepmother (Virginia Williams) at her late father’s firm adds a layer of family drama to her work life, as does her prickly relationship with her estranged husband (Michael Trucco), a prosecutor. Baron Vaughn also stars.
WRBL at 8 p.m. for Medium
So long, Dubois family; it’s been good to know you. In the finale of the crime drama series, Allison (Patricia Arquette) becomes a lawyer, and Joe (Jake Weber) starts a new job of his own, leading to permanent changes for the family. Miguel Sandoval, Sofia Vassilieva, Maria Lark and Madison Carabello also star.
COM at 10 p.m. for George Lopez: Tall, Dark & Chicano
Brad Pitt and Jesus are secretly Hispanic. George Lopez says so. In this stand-up special, which originally aired on HBO last summer, the Mexican-American comedian, actor and talk show host explains all things Latino, from El Nino to Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, along with his own reflections on growing up Chicano.
FAM at 8 p.m. for Mean Girls 2
A clique of girls makes life difficult for a new high-school student in this reboot of Tina Fey’s iconic 2004 movie comedy. This new TV movie revolves around a newcomer (Meaghan Martin, Camp Rock) who agrees (for a fee) to help one of her peers (Jennifer Stone) navigate the treacherous shoals of their high school. Mean Girls original cast member Tim Meadows returns as the school principal.
SYFY at 9 p.m. for Being Human
Aidan (Sam Witwer) races to help a desperate Josh (Sam Huntington), whose sister is locked with him in a hospital basement as his transformation is about to start. Later, Aidan is stunned to discover that an old fling has become a vampire. Bishop (Mark Pellegrino) demands that Aidan cast his lot with either his fellow vampires or their human quarry.
TNT at 10 p.m. for Southland
John (Michael Cudlitz) teaches Ben (Ben McKenzie) several vital aspects of being a good cop, including how to handle delivering a death notification to loved ones and how to arrest a suspected drug dealer. As he sorts out his marital issues, Sammy (Shawn Hatosy) crashes with Nate (Kevin Alejandro) and his family. Lydia and Josie (Regina King, Jenny Gago) investigate a drug-related murder case.
