Welcome to another week of "American Idol" blogging! Tonight's episode airs 8-10 p.m. on Fox and focuses on Milwaukee auditions. Thursday's show features Nashville auditions.
Will you stick with this season? By now, you've likely heard reports about "Idol" ratings being down.
I'll live-blog tonight's show as usual, even though I'm already cringing at the thought of enduring a two-hour episode. Come on, is that really necessary? Didn't last Thursday's one-hour show seem so nice?
Sigh. I can't do anything to change it. That said, here's what I'd like to see happen tonight.
Never miss a local story.
Better talent level: Last week's advancing singers weren't awful, but nobody screamed "potential winner." Of course, very few of us initially predicted Kris Allen or Lee DeWyze would earn such a strong fan following. Still, so far I don't believe this is the most talented batch of hopefuls in "Idol" history.
Fewer teenagers: Last week's episodes were skewed too heavily toward 15- and 16-year-olds. What happened to the obligatory singer who's nearly too old to audition? I want a little more age diversity this week.
Bolder Jennifer Lopez: It seems like new judge Steven Tyler has earned fans' approval. Jennifer Lopez? Not so much. She's not bad....she just seems a little useless. Make some bold moves this week, J. Lo!
See you at 8!
