I just got back from seeing "Dracula" at the Springer Opera House tonight. We had to slog through pouring rain to get there.
But getting there was worth it.
It wasn't a sold-out house, but there were a good number of people there.
It was really good.
Never miss a local story.
Unfortunately, you have just one more night to see it. So if you haven't seen it, go. The final show is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10-$35.
The role of Renfield is such a good one, and Adam Montague was really, really good. Actually, Paul Pierce's casting was very good.
I went with Nancy Shores, who was one of my favorite local actors. I don't know why she quit doing shows, but you should have seen her in "Nunsense."
I kind of knew that she loved vampires, but didn't know how much she loved them.
As we were leaving, I saw Daniel Stargel, who played the wicked count. I introduced them and she asked him to have a picture taken with her. Of course, Daniel agreed. She whipped out her cell phone, but I said I had my camera and took the picture.
She's so thrilled. I'll download the pictures when I get home and e-mail them to both.
It's truly a good show, and the set and lighting were very good. The music was atmospheric and, of course, you'd expect weather like tonight for a show like this.
It was perfect.
