More bad news for conservatives: the evil, liberal leaning Politico has another slanted story saying that Barack Obama has a decent shot of getting re-elected.
Thankfully, the more Republican leaning readers of our humble blog can easily discard this as liberal propaganda. Unfortunately, both Karl Rove and Mike Huckabee are quoted in the story backing up the premise that nobody is going to be able to waltz into 2012 and just take the White House from the incumbent, no matter how much you hate the guy.
It's actually true: your personal dislike of Obama has no effect on reality. Have a Mountain Dew if that's difficult to take. You've earned it.
So, why is an unpopular president in interesting times doing with a real shot at staying in office? Well, he's got a ton of cash sitting around waiting to be spent on his campaign. Also, he has a powerful campaign organization spanning the nation that's still in place from the last election. And finally, he's the sitting president, and incumbency has serious privileges.
At this point, those who chose to defeat Obama better focus on something other than name calling. It doesn't seem to be working. We suggest finding candidates who the American people can identify with, can trust and ultimately have the intelligence and willpower to lead this country through difficult times and into a shining future.
Or you can just nominate Newt Gingrich and see how that works out for ya.
