The first class to complete a 12-week course on maintaining the Bradley Fighting Vehicle since the Armor School moved from Fort Knox, Ky., to Fort Benning will graduate Thursday.
About 40 soldiers are expected to graduate during the 2 p.m. event at the 3rd Battalion, 81st Armor Regiment, Headquarters Building at Harmony Church.
The course on maintaining the Bradley Fighting Vehicle is the first under the Maneuver Center of Excellence, six years after the Base Realignment and Closure Commission announced its decision in 2005 to move the Armor School.
After graduation, not all the soldiers will move to a new assignment with an armor unit. The top 10 graduates with assignments to the M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle will remain on post for three more weeks to complete an additional Skill Identifier Course.
