More than 14,000 acres of Georgia land is dedicated to growing sweet Georgia blueberries, according to the Georgia Blueberry Commission.
When I learned that Georgia was the third largest blueberry-growing state, I was surprised because I've never picked blueberries before. I believe A&J Farm in Pine Mountain is the closest place (to Columbus) to pick these tasty berries.
Blueberries are at their peak right now. Really, right now, as in the month of July. So, we only have a couple of weekends to take advantage of the best part of the blueberry season. Ranking high in antioxidant content, Georgia blueberries provide health benefits as part of a well-balanced diet. Here are some Georgia locations where you can pick blueberries. I'll be finding out more soon, so if you have any questions, type them in the comments section and I'll find the answers.
