Friday WLTZ at 9 p.m. for Grimm The crime procedural gets turned on its head in this imaginative hybrid that follows a Portland, Ore., detective (David Giuntoli) who knows that the monsters described in the Grimm fairy tales are all too real. While they remain hidden from the rest of the world, he has the ability to see their true faces underneath their human disguises. Russell Hornsby and Silas Weir Mitchell also star.
Saturday WXTX at 8 p.m. for America’s Most Wanted: 50 Fugitives 50 States Special Edition Although the America’s Most Wanted series will be moving to Lifetime for its new season, Fox will still be airing its series of quarterly AMW specials that it had already planned when it canceled the show. The first of those airs tonight and is hosted by John Walsh.
Sunday WXTX at 8 p.m. for The Simpsons This year’s Treehouse of Horror trilogy opens with The Diving Bell and the Butterball, in which Homer is paralyzed by a spider bite but finds a unique way to communicate. Mild-mannered Ned Flanders is transformed into a murderous vigilante in Dial D for Diddly. Finally, Bart finds love on another planet in the Avatar parody In the Na’Vi. Aron Ralston, the inspiration for the film 127 Hours, guest voices his cartoon likeness.
