I'm very sensitive to time changes, so you can imagine what jet lag does to me.
Going from east to west, like we go from Atlanta to Tokyo, doesn't bother me. At all.
But come back from Japan to Georgia messes me up for weeks. I am truly a wreck.
Why do we have Daylight Saving Time? We no longer live in an agrarian world. We don't have to have extra daylight to work in the fields to get the crops in. At least most of us don't have to do that any more.
So even an hour's change messes me up. Like when we went from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday morning. I'll be I got maybe two hours of sleep. Last night, I fell asleep around 1 a.m. and got up at 5:30 a.m., which is way too early. I managed to fall asleep and got up at 7:45 a.m.
Now, getting five hours of interruped sleep is no good from what the TV doctors say.
No wonder I'm fat.
Yup. Now they're saying that if you don't get enough sleep, you will tend to be overweight and have high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. Oh, great.
What's next? I don't even want to know.
