If you haven't done the "Single Ladies" dance lately, get on it. We only have a few days left in National Unmarried and Single Americans Week, which goes through Saturday.
It's sponsored by Unmarried America, which notes there were 99.6 million unmarried people (18 and older) in America in 2010.
Even after being in a long-term relationship, I've retained the "single" label. Unlike Facebook, government forms don't give an option for "in a relationship" or "it's complicated."
You're either married or single. Been dating and cohabitating for seven years with no ring? Sorry, you're still single.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. I like the abundance of lyrical references to single life, not to mention the moments of complete TV control that come with singledom.
