Holy Topanga! Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have joined "Girl Meets World," a sequel to the '90s sitcom "Boy Meets World," according to an exclusive report from TVLine.
Right now, you're probably either shaking in ecstasy or scratching your head in confusion.
Hey, I'm excited. If your Friday night social calendar didn't include TGIF in the '90s, you missed out. Among the offerings: "Boy Meets World," which focused on a romance between Cory and Topanga, played by Savage and Fishel. The romance generally took center stage, but die-hard fans will say the show encompassed so much more.
Anyone remember Mr. Feeny? How about Eric's crazy antics? And let's not forget rebellious yet dreamy Shawn, played by Rider Strong. (He's still looking good, ladies. Just check Wikipedia.)
Never miss a local story.
Anyway, "Boy Meets World" ended in 2000. Which brings us to today...and "Girl Meets World."
The show "picks up more than a decade after Boy Meets World ended its ABC run and finds Cory and Topanga happily married and raising their 13-year-old daughter, Riley (from whose point of view the story is told). The pilot is still in the very early stages of development with Boy Meets World creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs at the helm," according to the aforementioned TVLine report.
So, which "Boy Meets World" cast members should join the sequel next?
