Consider it the softer side of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo."
We got just one 30-minute episode Wednesday night. Surprisingly, the show lacked the McIntyre, Ga., family's usual emphasis on crude humor and bodily functions. It was actually kind of...sweet.
Much of the episode focused on Sugar Bear's illness and his return from the hospital. Repeatedly, family members said the experience reaffirmed their love for each other.
Of course, there was still time for some fun, which came mainly through preparations for Mama June and Sugar Bear's "commitment ceremony." The girls shopped for bridesmaid dresses and threw a bridal shower for Mama June. Held at an Italian restaurant in Milledgeville, Ga., the bridal shower featured pizza and wings. My favorite part? Jose, an extended family member's boyfriend and the bridal shower's lone male guest.
Never miss a local story.
The half-hour episode offered a limited selection of memorable lines, but I'll offer these top five quotes.
"You forgot about the girl that smells like fish" (Pumpkin, while finalizing the list of bridal shower invites)
"I think I look pretty good in a dress. I mean, as my first time being in one." (Pumpkin)
"To be honest with you, I look good in all dresses." (Honey Boo Boo)
"I'm going to do the best that I can to fit in with all the white women." (Jose, the bridal shower's lone male guest)
"I don't like tiramisu." (Mama June)
