The new "Dancing with the Stars" cast will be revealed Sept. 4, according to a press release from ABC.
Anyone hoping to see a shirtless Geraldo Rivera on the show should prepare to be disappointed. Geraldo recently tweeted, "Honored to be asked to do DWTS. It's a great show, enduring & energetic. Sorry Deena but can't for lots of reasons including a bad foot Thx."
Try to control your emotions, people.
Believe it or not, there's life after Geraldo. Here are six stars I'd like to see on the show this season.
Never miss a local story.
Katherine Webb. It's bound to happen eventually, right? Webb, who was raised in the Chattahoochee Valley, seems like a perfect fit for the show. Sure, filming will coincide with football season and Webb would likely miss some of boyfriend AJ McCarron's games. But I think she can handle it.
Jon Gosselin. Yes, I went there. Jon's name is already floating among lists of rumored DWTS cast members. I think he should go for it. I mean, how else is he making big bucks?
Missy Franklin. It's the obligatory young athlete pick. Plus, this young swimmer has expressed interest in appearing on the show. Win-win, right?
Luke Perry. Anyone else still obsessed with Dylan McKay from "Beverly Hills, 90210"? I think this would be a great choice.
Stacey Dash. The "Clueless" star previously expressed interest in appearing on the show. Let's make it happen.
Alan Thicke. Confession: I really want to see Papa Seaver from "Growing Pains" dance to "Blurred Lines" -- his real-life son's current hit, arguably this summer's unofficial anthem.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas, aka JTT. I initially limited this list to six stars, but this idea struck me like lightning and it was simply too good to resist. Seems like JTT has been relatively quiet since his "Home Improvement" days. This is a perfect opportunity.
