I think "California Dreaming" is going to be a big hit for the Springer Opera House. It's in the new Dorothy W. McClure Theatre or The Dot as everyone is calling the theater.
It's beautiful and a very comfortable place to be.
Except tonight, when it was very hot. I got overheated and became nauseous. I left right before intermission. And promptly became sick half-way to my car. I was so glad I was outside instead of inside the theater!
I will go see the entire show next week.
Never miss a local story.
The show is very, very good. At least what I saw of it. And I'm certain the rest of the show is just as good.
John Kempt ably leads the cast as "Uncle John." He plays guitar and sings and dances. The rest of the cast is very good as well.
You're going to love to listen to him talk. He's from New Zealand, but has been living in California for a few years now.
When he found out that I have a major crush on Russell Crowe, he let me know how much he dislikes him. I don't care.
Last night and tonight, it was sold out. So if you want to see it, buy your tickets now.
The music is from the 1960s, which is the soundtrack of my youth -- the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, the Mamas and the Papas, the Fifth Dimension and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The songs keep coming.
If you like the songs on the oldies station, you're going to love this show.
