All Soldiers, regardless of rank and length in service, have to return to civilian life. This is no small task. Transitioning from the military, particularly after years of service, includes numerous life changes that can be even more challenging without preparation.
The Fort Benning Army Career and Alumni Program provides the required support to military members and their Families for a smooth and successful transition from active duty to civilian life. Based on forecasts by the Center on Education and the workforce, by 2018, approximately 63 percent of all jobs in the United States will require some kind of additional education following high school. According to the same report, by 2018, 58 percent of jobs in Georgia will require postsecondary education.
Numerous military professionals realize that they have to further their education and upgrade or update their skills in order to become more marketable. This is precisely why many ACAP alumni continue to register for classes and programs at Columbus Technical College.
Columbus Technical College is committed to help Soldiers and Families in transition continue their education, upgrade their skills, get hired, and ultimately, be part of a work-ready job force.
