Loan Hearings Will Resume Wednesday
A congressional investigating committee, probing a worldwide finance company's alleged abuse of Fort Benning soldiers and other servicemen, will resume hearings in Washington next Wednesday, Committee Chairman Wright Patman stated today.
Some 3,400 U.S. Marines landed at two points in central Viet Nam today, and a U.S. spokesman announced 4,600 more would come ashore during the next week to boost American military strength to nearly 60,000 men.
Ford Urges Bombing
House Republican Leader Gerald R. Ford of Michigan said today the United States should bomb Russian-built missile sites in North Viet Nam.
The bases, Ford said in an interview with Mutual Broadcasting System, are a threat to the security of American forces in Viet Nam.
