Coroner: Man at Outlaws Saloon died of blunt force trauma
A 23-year-old man who died Sunday after he was assaulted at the Outlaws Saloon died of blunt force trauma, authorities said Thursday.
Preliminary reports on Marquis Brown’s death were completed at the crime lab but the manner of death remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department, said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. The Phenix City father of two young girls was pronounced dead at Midtown Medical Center at 8 p.m.
Police in the Investigative Services Bureau weren’t available for comment late Thursday on the investigation into Brown’s death.
A fight started in the parking lot of the 6499 Veterans Parkway bar where police found at least 40 people about 3 a.m. Brown was seriously injured during the fight.
