Insanely overweight Tuesday
To some of you, this coming Tuesday marks the final day before we enter the liturgical season known as Lent. For the rest of you, Tuesday is an excellent reason to get sloppy during the middle of the week.
How to start? With Belloo’s at 900 Front Ave. on Friday night. The Mardi Gras fun starts early at this martini bar. Those scared of crowds and in need of a more intimate setting should get here around 7 p.m., earlier if you can sneak away from work.
Saturday, grab some of your shiftless friends and go to dueling pianos at The Vault on Broadway. Five bucks for cover isn’t that bad, and it’ll be amusing to see if these guys can perform Zydeco on pianos.
Never miss a local story.
Change gears on Sunday and check out the comic book show at the Coca-Cola Space Science Center at 701 Front Ave. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. It’s $4 and the knowledge you’ll never get a date again to get in.

Time to seize an unrivaled people-watching opportunity: It's the last full weekend of the first phase of H2O's Boobs for Babes, the competition that gives three lucky women money for breast augmentations.
Hit up the nightclub, located at 6499 Veterans Parkway, and you can bolster your favorite contestant's self-esteem by handing her some tokens.
If that lure isn't enough, H2O has a stellar entertainment lineup this weekend, boasting DJ Roonie G Friday, and the rockers from Southbound Saturday.
Then, make sure you visit Party City in Columbus Park Crossing to get a good supply of Mardi Gras beads for Tuesday's festivities. Shell out $3 bucks for the light-up ones -- the attention you'll get will make the investment more than worthwhile.
Finally, wrap up the weekend by watching the 81st Annual Academy Awards, 8 p.m. Sunday on ABC. Yeah, I haven't seen any of the nominated films, either. But I love hearing that cheesy music cut off a sappy acceptance speech.
