'There’s a place right down there …'
Of course, it’s got burlesque dancing, but that’s why I’m suggesting it’s one of the places you grace with your presence this weekend. Check out the Midnight Dolls – a no doubt tasteful dance troupe that features scandalous women - at 9 p.m. Friday or Saturday at H2O, 6499 Veterans Parkway. Bring $10 for cover.
Be sure to set your alarm clock early on Saturday for the Columbus State University Staff Council Garage Sale. It starts at 7:30 a.m. at the main campus parking garage. I suggest you bring cash, not plastic, for all the swag you’ll get.
The rain that’s forecast is sure to drain your energy and leave you powerless on Sunday. Try to revitalize yourself with a tasty beverage and a matinee showing of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
Never miss a local story.
P.S. - Dumbledore died because he didn’t spend enough time watching women in bikinis dance.
P.P.S – Don’t even try to make a Hermione joke, sickos.
They really like you
So your cellulite-inspired insecurities prevent you from hanging out with the Midnight Dolls. I feel your pain. Paint your toenails early Friday night, and then head over to H2O around 11 p.m. That's when Latin group La Positiva takes the stage. Shake your groove thing to convince yourself you've earned a spot on the Hot Tamale Train.
Saturday, ditch the second Midnight Dolls performance for drinks at Flip Flops, 1111 Broadway. The bar hosts a red carpet-themed party complete with fake paparazzi. Flaunt the right pose and you'll finally prove that you're kind of a big deal around here.
Once you've downed enough frozen concoctions, ask your designated driver to take you to the International Marketplace, 618 10th Ave., for Saturday's midnight showing of "The Rocky Horror Show." Tickets are $18 and $15.
