It's crunch time. Mother's Day is today and you need an action plan. Fortunately, we're here to help.
Reporter Sonya Sorich offers some suggestions for a traditional celebratory weekend:
Brunch at Cafe Le Rue. Plenty of local restaurants will offer Sunday morning specials, but this one sounds especially intriguing. The Cajun dining spot, located at 2523 Airport Thruway, introduces a brunch that's expected to be offered on a weekly basis. For $19 per person, you'll get buffet access, an entree and dessert. It's offered 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Reservations accepted for parties of six or more.
Dinner at Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill. Purchase an entree on Sunday and you can treat your mom to a meal on the house (up to $20). Smokey Bones is at 5555 Whittlesey Blvd.

Want a less traditional weekend? Treat mom to these suggestions, courtesy of reporter Alan Riquelmy:
Nightlife at Spicoli's.Party with mom at Spicoli’s, 5762 Milgen Road on Sunday. It's karaoke night. No cover. The action starts at 8 p.m. Be sure to tell the girl wearing the black wings that I sent you.
TV bonding. Watch Sunday's "Amazing Race" season finale together. The show airs 8 p.m. on CBS and we'll post updates online during the show.
A chain of flowers. You forgot to purchase your mother flowers. Not a problem. Make your way to your local grocery store, which is filled with a plethora of flowers for the belated purchaser and buy yourself a pack of carnations. Twelve will do nicely.
