Ricky Gunn wants you to know donations at Saturday’s Nashville flood relief fundraiser will put to good use.
“We’re not doing this for Kenny Chesney or Brad Paisley,” said Gunn, a member of local country act Montgomery Gunn.
Donations — ranging from money to canned goods — will aid people in Nashville neighborhoods affected by this month’s flooding.
The musicians from Montgomery Gunn frequently perform in Nashville and have friends in the area. “That’s kind of our home away from home,” Gunn said.
Never miss a local story.
Saturday’s benefit, held in the parking lot of H2O on Veterans Parkway, will offer family activities like inflatables in the afternoon. Food vendors will be available, too.
Later, H2O will host a night of performances by local acts like Montgomery Gunn, Haywire and The M&M Band.
The night’s $10 cover charge is the fundraiser’s only mandatory donation.
“Every single dime that is made is going to the relief,” Gunn said.
In addition to monetary donations, Gunn urges guests to bring items like canned goods and bottled water.
