Get up, get on up
Great weekend, folks. We’ve got a lot going on over the next few weeks, and I doubt you can keep up. Let’s see:
Downtown concert series: The band Theatrics take the stage on the 1100 block of Broadway from 7-10 p.m. Friday. As always, coolers are prohibited, large dogs are required. See local celebrity Sonya Sorich with a Flip Flops beverage dancing in the median!
Mike Scroggins at Daileys: Check out Scroggins every Saturday from 8:45-10 p.m. at the downtown nightspot, 1039 Broadway. The scene is refreshing for someone like me, who desperately wishes he were cool yet wants to play video games on a Saturday night. Get a drink, listen to the tunes and head out before the bar fills up and you have an anxiety attack.
Never miss a local story.
Arts in the Park: Swing by Weracoba Park noon-6 p.m. Sunday for the annual Arts in the Park event. They’ve got it all – photos of wigs, earrings made of small little seashells and wooden devices you’ll put on your kitchen counter and never use. Be sure to pick up a hot dog, hamburger and lemonade before you leave.
Move that bus!
The locally filmed episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" isn't this weekend's only highlight. Here are some additional suggestions, plus "Makeover" details:
